Tuesday, March 18  at  7:00 pm.
Third Street Center, Carbondale.

E & THConnie Baxter Marlow hosts a talk show: “Mystics, Alive and Well” with Dr. Albert Einstein (Andrew Cameron Bailey) and Henry David Thoreau (Richard Lyon) as her guests.

A scholarly performance piece done in a light-hearted manner. All of the dialogue expressed by Einstein and Thoreau are direct quotations.

The underlying thesis of this presentation is that every human being is an embodiment of a larger force and has the capacity to connect with that force and through personal choice bring inspired action to pass in everyday life and transform the world as we know it.

Both Thoreau and Einstein had mystical experiences as children. These experiences informed their lives. This piece demonstrates the parallels in their extraordinary belief in the human potential and how they responded to the challenges of their times in education, government, science, racism and war.

We can each be inspired by the insights they give us so that we can face today’s challenges in a constructive and positive way.
