Nannette Weinhold facilitating a Mindfulness Retreat for Youth in Grades 5-10

1505 Satank Rd., Carbondale.
This retreat is for young people who would like to meet new friends, learn how to slow down and savor experiences, and express themselves in a nonjudgmental, emotionally safe environment. By the end of the retreat participants will re-enter their daily environment with more confidence and calm about who they are, how they connect with others, and their place in the world.
This retreat will focus on:
- Self-awareness. Students will learn about themselves through expressive arts and authentic peer interaction. There will be small group discussion and creative workshops utilizing arts and nature
- Mindful communication. Students will learn ways to communicate more skillfully with techniques that calm and focus the mind while sitting, walking and participating in yoga.
Nannette Weinhold holds a MA in teaching from Lewis and Clark College and a MA in Contemplative Education from Naropa University and is currently pursuing her PhD in Psychology. She has been an educator for the past 26 years in Oregon, Asia and Colorado teaching middle and high school students. She has been a student of Miksang Photography for the past 2 years, is a certified Yoga instructor, and loves sharing her gifts with her students. She currently resides in Colorado teaching middle school.
Through much study, self-investigation and mindfulness practice, Inward Bound Colorado, Nanette’s most recent endeavor, emerges as a place for young people to rediscover their true essence and flourish with confidence and compassion.
