Our Cultural Crisis as a Death/Rebirth Opportunity
with Rev. Dr. Dia Lynn
Thursday, August 24th
7 to 8:30 pm
Calaway Room, Third Street Center
In this presentation Rev. Dr. Dia Lynn will address some of the pressing issues that are causing distress to many members of our community. What feels like a problem individually can seem unsolvable. When we look at the number and variety and depth of the issues we get about international conflicts and the state of planetary climate we can get overwhelmed, depressed, or fatalistic.
Drawing on the cartography of Dr. Stanislov Grof, the celebrated pioneer in the study of non-ordinary states of consciousness, Dia will reveal to participants the toxic patterns that are both deeply personal, intercultural, and timeless. In the broadest terms, we are all undergoing a state of transformation which, while painful, confusing, and toxic, can be endured if we see a light at the end of the tunnel and an eventual freedom with a rebirth of consciousness.
By working together and supporting each other with hope, understanding and compassion, we will enter the state of light and life will begin anew.
No specific solutions are offered for individual dis-ease, but local resources will be available for continued healing. A short film and slide show will accompany the talk. Rev. Dr. Lynn will remain after for questions.
