In acknowledgment of World Refugee Day June 20th, 2024 there will be sharing of a story of compassion and activism – the sheltering and life support for over 120 Venezuelans who came to our town in the summer of 2023. What is the Dreaming?
Indigenous philosophy (Australia) is known as the Dreaming and is based on the inter-relation of all people and all things. The past of the Spirit Ancestors which live on in the legends are handed down through stories, art, ceremony and songs.
Shayla has been inspired to bring the Dreaming to this valley following her recent trip to Australia, her meeting up with Connie Baxter Marlow and Andrew Cameron Bailey and the three of them being invited guests to the 50th Anniversary celebrating the discovery of Mungo Man and Mungo Lady, 42,000-year-old ceremonially buried Indigenous remains and the launching of a year-long initiative titled “Meeting the Dreaming.”
The program is hosted by The Center for Human Flourishing a member of SINE Network and Unity Earth events since 2019.
A collaboration with Ben Bowler and associates at Unity Earth, World Unity Week, Cool Brick Studios, HubCast Media and The Center for Human Flourishing.
