Lori Lynn Spencer, a clinically educated, board certified licensed massage therapist with 21 years’ experience has written a book about a method of healing chronic pain that she developed over her years of hands-on-the-body practice.

In Lori’s words, the book, “Leaving Pain Behind with M.I.R. Touch Technique” is an exploration and proven method to carry you on a journey of healing from pain; to become your own best healer.
When we have the tools necessary to listen and become one with our body, we have everything we need to heal.”

Join us in celebrating Lori’s accomplishment – the publication of “Leaving Pain Behind with M.I.R. Touch Technique”.

Lori shares her inspiration for writing this book:
“I have devoted twenty years of my career to help people heal from pain. I feel as though my entire life set the stage for this book. I have been told repeatedly by many experts that I needed to share my knowledge. Granted, it took me a bit longer than I would have liked; I knew in my heart though, that now is a good time to share my system.

My story is interesting in how I was led here. I noticed that certain behaviors are what create this condition to exist and flourish, in tandem with approaches that are structured on old beliefs. I feel most of what we are told really holds roots in antiquated models, most developed prior to understanding the role of fascia. My focus through my book is to change existing thought patterns, educate the masses on simple shifts in behavior to move beyond old conditioning. I feel when we know better, we do better. When something fails to help, then another way needs to lead. Change only occurs through understanding, through knowledge, especially as it relates to the body.
My inspiration comes from my passion to empower people to become their own best healers. This really is my heart’s desire, in synergy with sharing my “work” within the pages of my book.”

Lori Lynn Spencer is from Chicago, and has called the Roaring Fork Valley home over the past eight years. She is a clinically educated, board certified licensed massage therapist with 21 years’ experience. Lori has devoted her career specializing in pain, educating people throughout the country through talks at wellness expos, at Northwestern Business College where she taught Contemporary Health Issues and served as an honorary Board Member for the Health Science Department. Her experience has encompassed working in hospice for four years, which was what started her path to develop the Manual Inflammation Release©, a deep tissue, light pressured approach that breaks down the inflammatory adhesions and sends them out into the body for removal yet is not painful to the recipient. Lori produced and hosted an Internet Radio program heard in over 17 countries for a year to share her knowledge on everything wellness. Lori has devoted her career both in her lectures, as well in her hands-on work, to her passion of dispelling the myths on aging and pain. She has focused on learning about the connective tissue, or fascia, in renown research forums, as well participated in four cadaver dissections. She has worked with Northwestern Memorial Hospital in their Integrative Medicine department and studied hands-on energy healing in Norway. While pursuing her undergraduate degree from DePaul University, Lori learned about holistic medicine in resettlement communities in El Salvador. She has published scientific theories on what creates pain and presented them in Amsterdam and Snowmass, CO. As well as publications in her field, Lori has been interviewed by Baylor University, The Chicago Tribune, KDNK Radio, and various other outlets in the field of wellness.
